dressage and showing coz i am a princess and like to be hte centre of attention!

i enjoy jumping but not a fave!
Dunno Ijust really enjoy my flatwork compared to everything else!

XC, by a long way. because when you get it right it is absolutely exhilarating, satisfying, exciting, that perfect partnership with total understanding, compensating for each other, knowing exactly how horse will react to certain things and feeling them happen, relishing the challenges.

of course, that's when it goes well...! it isn't always quite as good as that. but even a baby horse having its first time schooling, getting its head round little ditches, combinations etc, is SO satisfying.
i can't ever remember finishing a xc round without a huge smile on my face (even if things didn't go quite to plan) whereas i've finished quite a few dr tests and sj rounds without a big smile, put it that way...!

I don't actually do any of them, but I picked SJ because it's my favourite to watch and I'd love to be able to compete in it one day, and dressage and endurance riding because I think I'd be good at them (one day!).

I picked showjumping, racing/point 2 point and dressage. Showjumping is my thing, wouldn't give it up for the world (although after last Saturday's performance maybe i should...), racing as I adore working the pointers at my yard and love going to help on race days (it's almost worth the sleep deprivation and bloody ragged fingers from plaiting up 5 in sub-zero conditions) and dressage as it is my new secret weapon to improve my showjumping lol!

Eventing (dont do it, daughter does), as an eventing mummy's life is hard work but I love walking the xc course, the atmosphere at events, the friends you make and meet and the star spotting! I also love dressage, having done a bit before work and daughters eventing took over my life, but my real love is hunting. Me and my lad love it. Tally Ho!

Where is teamchasing? I LOOOOVE the teamchasing. Other than that, hunting and the workers, love a bit of showing in the summer to keep them sane, and then hunting and teamchasing in the winter to keep them insane.

showjumping, cross country, polo and hunting.. but it wouldnt let me add that

I love this! ^^ I have only done xc a few times - once with CC - and I absolutely loved it. We felt like a team, like no one could stop us (quite literally at times lol!

) And she really enjoyed herself which is all I ever ask for

We have another lesson next Friday! I can't afford it but hey ho
blush.gif
I want to enjoy the summer.

I also am getting really into dressage as our %s improve! I don't think C enjoys it as much as I do
grin.gif
But I always want to improve and having a test to look back on really helps and appeals to the perfectionist aspect of my personality

but last month when I took C round and I led her over and then jumped her over a dirty great big ditch (it wasn't that big, but it was to her!) I felt so so proud

Where are any of the driven disciplines!?

Driving as so versitile and open to any and its such a partenership. You really can't have a dumb competition driving horse they've definatly got to have a bit of brains and independance, with respect. One of the best feelings I ever had was driving Barnaby (a very classy 16.2 ID/TB/Shire) through a cones course in canter when I asked him to lengthen and he just flew with imense power in perfect balence. He was always perfectly balenced due to never being ridden and and 4 gears in walk, trot and canter, could pirruette, perfect leg yeilds and do a High School canter (not usful but bloody impressive) Pair driving is my favourite though

Oooo sorry i totally forgot about driving and team chasing, if there is a way to add it i will but im totally computer illiterate despite being young :P Sorry about only allowing 3 choices either :P

Good! Especially as there are many many different driving disciplines! HDT, showing, le trec, endurance, scurry, club drives, coaching, farm work and forestry both of which have competitions and heavy horses to name a few
