Only SJ at the moment, but this years goal is to have a go at XC with Mo - I've done it, he hasn't. Should be interesting...
And if he takes to XC then hopefully we'll start eventing
Has to be jumping. Either SJ or XC, it changes! I hate the end of the eventing season and going back to boring SJ for the winter, but then by about now I actually really like SJ again! Basically I like most things except dressage
I get the biggest kick out of jumping, be it SJ or XC but I don't get to do either very often as we have dodgy floodlights so it wouldn't be fair to jump her in winter. Roll on summer evenings
Driving eventing. The parts of that:
marathon(like XC), then cones(SJ) and dressage
Riddenressage, SJ then eventing finally XC oly because that is the order of my experience.
Why i like driving- Amazing event, super people, 2 parties per event
, great fun, and I can do it!
Why I dont like XC riding- I have done 3 rounds, one I had 10 refusals, (all different fences) One I got elminated for doing all te wrong fences and going throught the lorry park with very fast pony when I wa 7. At my most recent attemt I fell off at the 2nd.
Although at that same event I also got a clear roundd.
I love being on the back of carriages, especially for the hacks they used to do at my old yard, I nearly fell off the back once because the horse "Jumped" into a rather energetic trot haha! Me and Poutu, well we do dressage, only because I have a fear of jumping haha!
i love jumping, especially after this year where i have gotten so much more confidence - put me in front of a 2ft 9 and i'm well away! I havent managed any taller than that yet lol
Frankie has dome some, but very little, so we will be having a go at that this year yippee I can't wait!!
think i'll try him with knock down fences for a while before we try solid jumps lol
2 disciplines - western trail riding, and driving. probably enjoy driving more because we can all be involved - OH, me, coblet and dog. said coblet enjoys hairing up the steepest hill he can find, the wagon rattling along behind with passengers holding on for dear life
its good fun. really!! also heard today we might be going on a buffalo drive when spring sets in properly. never done one before, so not quite sure what to expect, apart from shot nerves and even more grey hairs ......
Jumping - preferably xc, but love sj too.
I find dressage dull and frustrating, and I've spent years perfecting my "dragged through a hedge backwards" look so showing's definately not for me either!
