I have two both good doers and always fighting the bulge.
Well now that the spring grass has finally arrived, mine are muzzled throughout the day and allowed to roam all areas 13 acres, then muzzles off and strip grazed during the night, no hay no feed. We hack 3 times a week and lunge/ride in the field in between. They are not putting weight on but not losing it either. Whats your regime for good doers?

Out in big field muzzled during the day, in overnight with a triple netted 24hr soaked haynet and a woodchip bed (she eats straw). This maintains her weight, then I work her 5 days a week, doing extra if she needs to loose weight. She has 2 tiny feeds a day of unmolassed chaff and light balancer, mainly to stop her kicking the door down when the others are fed, and to give her cortaflex

out 8 am muzzled. brought in between 4 and 5 - ridden or lunged then in with one large soaked (for 24 hrs) doubled up haynet, on shavings as he will eat straw

Muzzled from around 8:30 a.m. to 6 or 7. Out 24/7. Ridden 4 or 5 times a week - that's the key thing. She's lost 80kgs since I started riding her!

Cob muzzled 24/7..wears shires muzzle through the night. 8am feed with joint/respiratory supplements then put into a greenguard through the day. He gets either half hour to an hour with no muzzle to have an itch or is allowed in the hay field with his muzzle on with much longer nice grass!

Cushings pony...comes in at 8am with toy ball filled with nuts and half a slice of soaked hay. Let back out at 3ish (enjoys his quiet old man mornings to himself:rolleyes:) with his muzzle and stays out muzzled till the next morning. He occasionally will get the odd night out unmuzzled as until the grass maintains a good length can start losing a bit too much weight.
