Wheat feed?

My supplier has by mistake supplied a bag of wheat feed, which he says is a by product of the milling industry. I do feed wheat bran, in very small quantities, but always understood that wheat products were ruled out because of the risk of laminitis, presumably because of the high starch and indigestibility. Wheat feed has a combined starch/sugars level of 34% and what worries me is that he is telling customers it is okay to feed to horses.
Any thoughts? Anyone feed it?

Any wheat feed of any type is not good for your horse, Bran, middlings, broll, fines whatever its called - don't feed it. The phosphorous :calcium ratio is really bad, and because wheat contains a phytate that blocks the absorption of calcium its a dangerous food. To maintain blood calcium levels, calcium is taken from the bones weakening them.

That isn't true for bran, since it is lower in those values than the rest of the grain see https://forageplus.co.uk/feeding-wheat-bran-to-my-horse/. Where does that information come from?
However I did some research and discovered that wheat feed has a total of 34% of starch and sugars - over 1/3 !!! http://www.gpfeeds.co.uk/analysis/wheatfeed.htm
Which means it is a definite EMS/IR lammi risk factor, although you might get away with feeding small amounts to horses in really hard work. He does know now, even he recognised that as high :)
