Hi there
I’ve just had my very itchy horse allergy tested. He’s come up allergic to wheat and rapeseed (amongst lots of weird and wonderful other things!)
My problem is finding a wheat free feed that will also prevent him getting gastric ulcers again. He’s had them before and so I’ve been feeding Top Spec Ulsakind but I’ve since found it’s got wheatfeed in it so I need to find something else that’s good for his gut but also his skin. Nightmare!
Does anyone know what’s out there that I could feed him? ?
Thanks!

Grass nuts. Alfalfa nuts. Linseed, copra, rice bran. Flaked maize, micronised barley, oats.

Feed aloe vera juice for the ulcers 25ml a day.

My TB with a soya intolerance (also in a lot of feeds) is doing well on grass nuts. But my other horse is extremely reactive to alfalfa, so be careful if you try those.

Any fibre-based feed should be good, grass nuts/haycobs with grass chaff or alfalfa if he is ok with that (my super sensitive mare was fine with it). I would add aloe vera juice to keep his digestive system happy.
