and his whole body is shaking like a jelly....... but his ears and armpits are nice and warm......

does that mean the shivering is working, or he is still cold???

I got merlin in and dried him off today as he was looking close to epilepsy...... he even seemed glad to be in (which to anyone that knows him is a miracle.... he is a real stress head in a stable).

Have stuck a summer turn out on him know and he is back out, hopefully not shivering!!!

My girlie shivers when wet even if sh'es not cold! She will continue until dry and/or fed, I was used to cold blood before I had her and they never even flinched at the sight of rain. She's a pure bred Arab and does look like she's fitting if she get left out in anything more than a shower!

So could I have left him out to shiver off some fat then???

...... he said not

Our secB stands there looking very sorry for himself in the rain ,shivering and sulking.....I must admit to bringing him in drying him off and putting him back out in a turnout rug......Whereas our SecA seems totally oblivious to the weather as long as shes eating....

My two have learnt if they stand at the gate and shiver they can come into a nice warm stable - I'm a sucker for it

I am worried now that the lightweight turnout that i ended up putting on will be nasty and cold like a wet kagoul (someone elses description
