When can she start working?

Hi all just looking for some advice, my mare aborted her foal today 7 months it was pretty terrible by all accounts but she is doing fine and been checked by the vet. She is 4 so just wondering what people would suggest in terms of her starting some work? Obviously I will leave her a few weeks to let everything settle down as she is quite sore but how long do you suggest I leave it?

I personally would leave her for at least two months even more to recover and then take her very slowly but be guided by her.

So sorry for your loss, it's always such a waste of a life and your dreams.

That is so sad. I think you need to be careful as her ligaments will be very soft from the pregnancy hormones.

Thanks, am gutted was the filly I had wanted too. I'm obviously in no rush she can have as much time as she needs just think she will get bored soon enough without a job.

Umbilical torsion. Mare is not a particularly stressy type so I guess it was just one of those things.
