Hi, does anyone have any idea when welsh D's usually stop growing?

My boy has just turned 5 and I looked at a picture earlier that i'd taken a few days ago and he looked bum high so when I saw him earlier I had a look at him and he definitely is. Do you think he will grow much more, he's 15.1 (or was at Christmas when he was last measured) and a nice chunky chap x

I think Welsh D's can stop growing between 5-7 years old if he's bum high he might grow a little more but I wouldn't expect much of a height burst :) good luck! My wpb has just turned 3 and around 15hh so I'm hoping she'll get a few more inches over the next couple of years! xx

About 7 or 8. They may have reached their mature height earlier but they just keep getting broader. In a lot of cases you can compare a 5 year old photo to an 8 year old photo and you think "Woooooooo, is that the same horse!"

When do they stop growing? When the are 1 inch higher than you wanted them to be!

Seriously - about 7.

Oh that's good then, I'd herd they are quite late to finish but wasn't sure what people ment by late. He might squeeze another inch then which I don't mind at all and a bit more width never hurt anyone :)
