I live in London and my horse is kept out in Epping which is 40mins in car after work each way so not an option riding in daylight hours during the week... hate having to ride in the dark and so does he! He gets out both days on the weekend and is ridden 4 days during the week but not sure if I can keep this up the whole winter
I work funny hours so yesterday I rode after work at 5.30, today it will be after work at 7.30, then fri, sat and sun I am off so will get to ride in daylight. He generally gets a day off a week, if the weather is really awful it might be more!
I go OUT at the weekend for about 1hr of a hack - well I try to. I ride 3/4 times a week and sharer rides 3/4 depending on what days we have. Its usually between 4-8 he gets ridden - sometimes earlier on the weekend but I don't like taking away his field time as they are in from 3pm to 8am
I get up at 6.20am and go and muck out and ride before work three or four days a week. The other two week days, I lunge him after work in the flood lit school and then ride during the day at weekends!
When I went out this morning, even after I had finished mucking out, it was still really dark and horrible! I struggle to get up in a morning, but once I am at work and horsey is nice and relaxed in his stable it is all worth it!
i ride tuesday to friday schooling and jumping after school (Monday is my day off from riding ) at the weekend i hack round the track go for a gallop or a nice chill ride with m8z . or one day ausally go to a show
Just now I only ride on my days off, and it'll be anytime during the day. Once he's in at night I'm going to try riding in the morning before work, not sure how well that'll work though!
I am lucky if I get to ride twice a week. I can only ride at weekends but fortunately my horsey doesn't mind having weekdays off - he's no more fizzy when I do ride, just a bit more keen which I don't mind!
