When does a stud come fertile (for minis)

I am wondering wat what age a mini stud becomes fertile. I am asking because I know that they are known to "drop" much later than a regualr horse and at times may even be misdiagnosed as a rig because of it.

Does this mean they are often later to become fertile?


My mini is not even a year until July but he has already dopped in a big way! lol They are already visibly hanging down slightly.
Any input is appreciated. I am very curious
