Urrrr - well last week? Did you not feel a little loney when you went to the meet? hehe - sorry, only joking, were you asking someone specific or in general. Normally towards end of March or when ever the hunt has it PtoP. Our welsh pack used to finish early because of the lambing and the PtoP - end of Feb - booh hoo. But I've moved now and haven't met up with my local pack this season.

I was asking because of something I read in our local paper this week.

Here's what it's about: LACS are having a go at Exmoor National Park Authority because ENPA ask dog owners to keep their dogs on a short lead March - July so as to avoid upsetting ground-nesting birds. LACS say ENPA are hypocritical because they don't make the hunts do the same. But if hunting has finished then LACS are talking rubbish, so I might write a letter just pointing that out...

It goes on until May on Exmoor, so LACS have a point!
Hopefully hounds are interested in ground nesting birds, unlike spaniels and labs and so on, so it shouldn't upset too many!

So there you are then, depends on the country - I take it thats the beginning of May? Mind you before you write a letter and commit your self to print you could contact the hunts Masters to clarify?

... and the staghounds only use a couple at a time.

The usual desperate stuff from LACS ....

Ronnie Wallace always used to want a May fox, and I suppose from a foxhound point of view it goes from there.
