Just wondering if anyone knows when it is safe to take good doers off of restrictive grazing for the winter? They have never had laminitis but dont want to risk it but at the same time dont want them going hungry.

I'm still restricting at the moment as we've had lots of rain and now we've got sunny days. The lawn is growing like mad, so the paddocks must be too, it's just harder to tell when the growth is promptly eaten. ;)

not just yet as the grass is still growing, probably more so than in summer because of the rain and sun combo we are getting at the moment

IMO not at all! Only if you have bareish fields and its below 5 degrees. My three get strip grazed all year unless there is a layer of snow and only then do they get the whole 4 acres.
