I have a friend who has been riding for 3 months? She can canter, gallop, jump 4ft +, trot. She really wants to go on a hunt for the first time, I'm not sure. What do you think?

Whatever their 'natural talent', it will be a steep learning curve!!!!

I am amazed that anyone who has only been riding 3 mnths can jump 4ft, so question whether this is a serious post…..

I think you're having a great laugh, unless she's been riding eight hours a day for three months :D

You're only fifteen, is this girl boasting to try and impress you or something?

When they can be in control of an excitable horse in an open space; ensuring that they are not a danger to themselves, others or the horse.

These days there is normally a good contingency of non-jumpers so if can be the equivalent of a fast fun ride over varied (sometimes not ideal) terrain.

Has she been on any fun rides? Does she have a horse of her own to take or would she be on a hireling?

The advice to follow on foot a couple times is solid. It would give a great flavour of what to expect and a close up view of the questions asked of both horse and rider!
