First thing in the morning, before being turned out (assuming you can)

Middle of the day, bringing in from field, riding, turning out again.

Or last thing, before tea and bed (for us too, not just the horse!)

....or other....if there is one!!

Just a nosey post really to see how everyone gets on!

Thank you!

Lunchtime onwards. She likes to go out in the field for a munch before going out for a ride. Not at all happy with going out straight after breakfast.

First thing in the morning, as they are ready for work, they are nice and clean, aren't all filled up on loads of hay or grass and afterwards they can then go out and 'play' in the field. I prefer riding in the mornings as well, not keen on riding in the afternoons...

Honestly?..whatever time of day and whether they've been ridden evryday or once a month. In fact, mine and daughters pony have pretty much had the winter off and when we start riding them again in a month or so they'll likely be no different. They live out 24/7 though and I reckon that helps.

First thing in the morning, about 7.30am when there is no one at the yard for her to get distracted by! She is a cow to ride in the afternoon, as must think its tea time and definately not work time!!

Not straight from the stable or late afternoon before tea time. Much quieter to ride after being at grass for a while - grumpy when hungry.

Any time my instructor is on top of her and not me!!!

I usually ride in the afternoons, between 1pm and 6pm. Any time after that is dinner time and she will NOT concentrate, and nor will I! It really depends on our routine though.

Much to my disapproval I have to say my horse is better to ride when he has been in for a couple of days (but still ridden each day)!!

I always swore out was better and he still is turned out every day, but I have to admit that when he has had to stay in - say for a bit of mud fever etc he is just SO with me and hangs on my every inkling of an aid!

When he's been out, he always has one ear on the field/his buddies for the first half on any session!

When he lived out during the summer it was even worse.

It's as if when he's in, he sees me and my hubby as his herd and forgets his friends a bit.

It really goes against the grain for me as I've always believed in keeping them as natural as is practical. *shrugs*
