... Is it usual to get no response? Are the links actually connected to peoples email ads??

I would have usually rang but have been full of cold and thought i'd get a bit of info by email until i can hold a conversation and have had nothing, nada!
Just wonderinig if there are any other expeiences of this??

They go straight to the sellers email address. I have contacted sellers through the service on the website and never had any problem. Perhaps this person just doesn't get regular mail so doesn't check often?

I've not long put an advert on there and was worrying about the other side - ie, replies not getting through...

An enquiry comes through to the email I've got registered - a reply from me appears to go direct to the email of the person enquiring so as long as that's working ok there's no reason for you not to receive a reply from the seller within a reasonable period of time...

Have had some replies but have got no reply quite frequently, probably just that people don't check very often, I hate phoning but needs must I suppose!

Definitely mixed, though to be fair I had mixed responses whether I emailed, texted, rang or sent carrier pigeon I have had no response, rude response, lying response...

So glad the one I am getting vetted on Fri was me approaching someone and their beautiful boy at a show and admiring him, my YO knowing him and him happening to be for sale! :D

Has anyone had replies from the seller?

I haven't heard back from either of the people who I replied to and really, in the context of their enquiry, I expected to... You can click reply on the enquiry and it subs the email of the person who got in contact so should go directly to them even though the enquiry comes through a HM addy...

I have no idea if their mail system works but it is the only advertising site where people have posted about the mail system not working.

Personally I would contact by another method if I really liked the horse.

Having advertised a horse on horsemart and succesfully sold, when i checked my junk email a few weeks later i had numerous emails from potential buyers!! so it is very likely the seller may not have even seen the email, even more so if they have email settings to automatically delete junk emails

This is a possibilty, also, it may be that the horse is no longer for sale and the owner hasn't removed the listing.
If really interested in the horse, don't leave it, just phone today.

It also might be the case that the seller has been inundated with emails and simply hasn't got round to replying to them all. When I advertised my mare for loan via horsemart I got dozens of emails and I simply couldn't reply to all of them! I much preferred it when people rang, largely because they could ask any questions they needed to and arrange a viewing all in one go. When people emailed, I found that they would continue to email with a succession of new questions even when I suggested they give me a ring to discuss further details. It got a bit boring tbh :o. As for texts - I'm afraid to say that after the first few days I stopped replying to them. I got fed up of people attempting to do the whole exchange via text message and by the fact that they would text at all times of the day.
So, my advice is to ring up if you can and if you're really keen on the horse.
