Do not put scant details in the ad

When emailed answer the questions asked by the potential buyer instead of just answering one or two, resulting in the potential buyer having to ask the same questions time and time again.

When asked for an address and phone number to enable potential buyer to come and view horse for sale, do not respond with the name of town only (ie no address) and inform potential buyer that you cannot be contacted by phone.

When potential buyer does not respond to your email asking when she would like to come and view immediately, do not email her thus: “do u want to come and see her or r u just messing me around !!!!!!!!!!”. The potential buyer might just be at work and have a customer present so could be unable to respond to your email in the nano second that you expected her to respond in.

Try to communicate in a manner that will give the impression that you are a reasonably intelligent and articulate adult and not an illiterate twelve year old.

Needless to say, after being subjected to the above this morning I will not be looking at the mare I expressed an interest in!

I appreciate that you are very frustrated, but after receiving some very scant, weird, and scam emails, I feel that I will NOT be giving out my exact name, address and telephone, plus location details to just anyone!!

I will reply politely to all emails that appear authentic, and will provide a contact number so any further details on the horse can be given. Also, arrangements to view can be given on the telephone, when a specific appointment is made to view!

Please do not be quick to jump on people who don't give you details by e mail. By all means they should answer your questions but try and think of it from the seller's point of view too.

I do appreciate your response f_s_, but this girl was far from polite, in fact was quite rude and evasive.

I arranged to go to see the pony but she said she was unable to provide me a telephone number as she said she had broken her mobile phone.

When I explained I was unable to respond due to being at work I received this email:

“ well sorry I didnt no did I if u want her now no she is not real it is a fake advert”

and when I didn’t respond to that one I got:

“what do you say about that then”

With an attitude like that I would be surprised if she sold any of the several she has advertised.

Some people are just unreal, and I'm surprised they sell anything!!
To me, first impressions count, and if I'm not immediately taken by someone, I won't be chasing them for replies that for sure!!

I cringe when I read some adds, especially ones by dealers!! Its all about good spelling and grammer to me!!

I see your point!!!!

Wow! What a rude person!!!! I didn't realise that you'd had a reply like that!

I think some people think that they will have people queuing up to buy their horse, and throwing money at them!!!

I think this particular seller should take a few lessons in customer care and satisfaction.... poor horse is never going to find a home with someone like that selling it!!

Apologies for getting the wrong end of the stick!
