I keep my oldie on a yard where until recently it was just me. Now there are lots of other liveries (I can't keep up - there always seem to be more kids/people than horses!). I posted recently about stuff going missing all the time. Luckily we are moving house in August and fingers crossed, will be able to rent some grazing at the new house.
However, my weanling arrives in October/November and I was thinking it might be better to keep him at the yard at least for 6-12 months while he grows up a bit. He'll have more company and others to teach him how to behave. If I move them it'll just be him and the oldie. She'll certainly keep him in line, she's a grumpy old thing and bosses the others round no end. But would it be better for him to have more company than just her? There aren't any other foals or youngsters, but they're certainly less old than my veteran. Perhaps I should stay there another year and put up with the hassle.... Thoughts anyone?
