My mare was AI's on 27th May - she had a tear drop shaped follicle at the time, so think it is likely she ovulated within 24 hours.
I took her back in for a scan yesterday, and the vet said it was possibly a bit early to tell (so why have me make the appt?!), but that I should take her back tomorrow morning. Is that really going to be enough time to make a difference?
I have to take holiday to take her in, so was going to propose I take her next Weds instead - presumably she'll be getting closer to ovulating again if not pregnant, but will be easier to confirm either way? Or is that leaving it too late?
Just to further complicate things, she had an allergic reaction to something the weekend after she was inseminated, so the vets don't think it's likely she will have taken, but her temperament is much more mellow (as she is usually whilst pregnant), so I'm not sure. They are proposing to give her prostagladin again at the weekend, but I don't know whether it's better to let her come in again naturally if she's not pregnant?
Thoughts appreciated please!
Thanks
