Now or in the autumn? I said now as he is sound and well having finished the season but his owner is worried that it needs to be autumn time. He isn't a hunt servant's horse, just one that goes well in the field. What do you think? Advertise now or put up and wait?

A shame your season has now finished - a lot of hunters have been up for sale in the last month or so, presumably so that prospective buyers can try them on the hunting field before season end.

I have bought two hunters at this time of the year in the past, as it is nice to have the summer to get used to them and hit the ground 'running' come autumn hunting.

Thankyou, I will push. If I was buying now would suit me as you can check for soundness and get to know them, as L&M says. It is a sudden change in circumstances that have pushed the sale, hence it not being done earlier.
