I've been working my pony, who had 3 years off, for the past 6 weeks roughly. He's getting a lot fitter and we're able to go for nice long canters round the field with no problems now. He always used to love jumping and i'd like to start it again with him, very small obviously, but I don't know if it's too early. What do you think?

Doing some polework, crosspoles etc doesn't require your pony to exert itself much more than a canter, just keep the sessions very short and make sure you warm him up and supple him first.

Do you have a school with a surface? Only I'd avoid jumping on this ground at the moment.

Thanks Munchkin

We do have a nice little school to use so that's not a problem. I've been doing a bit of polework with him anyway and we never really work for more than 20 minutes anyway :D
