when to vet a horse

I am being very positive, which is not like me always see the black side of every thing.I have seen a horse that I have fell in love with and have said yes to , but will not know if I am the lucky one until Thursday this week,( please please let me be lucky).
The thing is I can have him on a months trial basis and then purchase him , but I want to have him vetted, when should I do that, when I take him straight away or after the months trial

Suggestions please , I am praying that my phone rings and its GOOD news!

I am surprised the vendor isnt stipulating the horse is vetted before he leaves their yard.
That way they totally cover their backs. Im not saying you are dodgy or anything, but anything can happen in a month!

id have him vetted before taking him on trial - then at least you will know whether hes ok or not. Whereas if you wait until the end of the trial and have already fallen for him, but get bad news at the vetting it will be even harder for you.

or you could look at it from a view that if you wait to the end of the trial you can potentially save yourself £200 as you may not want him anyway & decide to send him back

I would def vet before the trial, you would be devastated to have on trial fall in love and then they fail the vetting!

I would get the horse vetted before the trial, if it fails then you won't have wasted a month with this horse or set your heart on the horse.

Yes I'm thinking of having him vetted before the trial, if I am the one to buy him, I think that there has been lots of folk after him, so fingers crossed for me.

Vet before the trial, that way you can't be balmed for something they find at vetting

get him vetted first in case theres something wrong with him now, and the owners try to put it on you later
