When walking your dogs on a lead, do they walk into you?

I am fed up of Islay walking into me when she is walking along on the lead

She either needs her eyes testing

or is spatiallly unaware

Or perhaps it is just that greyhounds are not the most intelligent souls in the world

Mine only does it when he's on a long lead, I think its got something to do with the lovely rose bushes on the other side.. We get a lot of 'curtain twitchers' so I don't like him doing it

He does it all the time when walking along the leady bit of the beach and I always end up falling over him

My mother-in law has got several hounds and they do have tendency to try and trip you up! I use my bony old knee to bop them out the way!

Ahhhhh I did that the other day and came to grief, I nearly cried it hurt so much

Went to push her out of the way with my knee, and my knee connected with that very very hard sharp pelvic bone they have at the back.....OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I thought it was probably karma for me trying to be horrible to her

she also stops dead infront of me and looks back when off lead (I think to wait for me) but then I go a over t over the top of her!

Not walking into me but B has a bloody awful habit of leaning on me until I fall over, sitting or lying on my feet

I've been told it is an insecurity thing and a dominance thing. Bloody annoying whatever it is....

Mine does, just to be awkward though.

She also rarely walks in a straight line but will "shoulder in" across the road and then back again.

Leah doesn't do this, but Scooby the cob does.

He practically tries to climb on top of me when I'm leading him! He's already broken my toe once, and he stepped on the back of my joddy boot once and pulled it clean off my foot!

I really need to do some groundwork with him... he's not bargy, he just has no concept of personal space!

I hate having Leah completely to heel because I always trip over her and tread on her paws (my faut, not hers!) so I like to let her walk just in front of me. Mum's horrified by my lack of lead-training, but she doesn't pull and is easy to walk so I don't see the problem if she's not glued to my leg.
