....brought your new horse and got it home did it behave and was able to do all the things the buyer said it could! For example was it 100% accurately described or did you feel that they may have over elaborated your new 'horsey buy'.....bearing in mind we know that horses can take up to a year to settle in some cases, mine did!

I was just curious that's all!

When we bought the boys they were concerned we were not experienced enough, so 'undersold' them. Saying how sharp they were, and had not been broken to ride and they were competition ponies, but they have been perfect. Pip is 'spirited' but Ginga is a steady as houses!
We had one pony who was apparentlky suitable first competition pony, but it spooked ALL the time, and it had been perfect when we tried it. We reconed they drugged it, fortunately it was for my little sister so i rode it and sold it on woth no loss!

Well they didnt tell me much about ben apart from the fact that hes big lol they didnt say how big though lol. I was swapping him for a horse I had that didnt work out so all I knew was he was big bay horse and that was it lol. Couldnt go wrong.

Hmm, the pony didnt do what it said on the bottle, you expect a 5yo by the JC champion & out of one irelands best show horses, might, just might, be able to jump a cross pole - no. But 8 years later he has proven he CAN (just wont) jump & CAN (just wont) do a decent dressage test!

The horse only came with the promise, "well his dam was very quite on the roads" 3 years later he has 50BD points, competed BE & BSJA - I think he did more than what was promised.....

Ironically both came from the same dealer, but I do think a lot of the ponies failures are just a conseqeunce of bad riding *hangs head in shame*!

My horse was very good - he's just gradually turned into a nut. (Not really, but he knows what he thinks he should be doing, rather than what my plans are)

Three of them are angels and the one I love the most is a little buggr - not naughty bad, but a proper monkey. He makes a noise like a baby crocodile if you tell him off.

Tara was pretty much what she said on the tin. she took ages to settle in (as we where warned about) and she still gets upset occasionally now- she is quite mareish too, but not badly, she just has her off days! But regarding her ability, yes she is exactly as described. Her flatwork wasnt as good as expected, but it has improved as i have improved so i think it was just a case of me getting to know her/vise versa.

Harry on the other hand...well, i guess they DID say he "might" buck "on the rare occasion"

My horse arrived with a terrible reputation locally. She kicks, she's mad, you can't hunt her, you won't keep her sound. And yes when she first arrived I did wonder what I had let myself in for, she arrived with a broken headcollar and you couldn't tie her up, but in just a few months she was relaxed and settled and is the most well behaved horse I have ever had - 2 years on and she has come on in leaps and bounds, she just needed someone to love her and understand her thats all - we just clicked!

Fudges owner was so honest, I nearly brought him without trying him out

The rescue sanctury weren't quite so honest about Lady though and most other people haven't been completely honest either so I guess I was lucky.
