About a year ago all I could find was "wanted for loan" adverts, where has everyone gone??

I am playing with ideas at the moment so I can keep my horse after a nasty breakup leaving me homeless. I am now living 10miles from horse (whose on a yard I love) and work 35miles away.

I have has my mare who is a safe fun hack ultimately for £80 a month (2 days a week) yet no interest. I have brilliant hacking at the yard and a school.

Where are all the sharers???

Tack shops, local equestrian mags (if you have one), facebook local equestrian group are often filled with "for loan" or "sale" ads, which may be worth a try.

Have yo got (fairly clear) pictures of her being ridden or body shot in your ad?

I've heard people saying they have mentioned to vets/farriers and found people too.

Local riding stable?

OP,
Try NFED website, as you're Sussex Hants boarder you should reach lots of people down here, it's always my first port of call for everything horsey!

Word of mouth definitely best and not just horsey people. Tell EVERYBODY you're looking for a sharer. I found my last one by mentioning in passing to a new colleague that I had a horse and was looking for a sharer for him and he said his wife used to have a horse and might be interested. She ended up sharing him for 5 years until they moved away.

Sorry to hear about the break up, I found my sharer through equine adverts.
She was amazing, very supportive when he went lame and continued to visit even when she couldn't ride.
Good luck :)

I am a sharer and pay £100 a month +shoes and can ride as much as I want, only have to muck out on a weekend and have the opportunity to compete, so to me it seems quite a lot for 2 days a week...perhaps I am super lucky though!
I found it through a wanted ad on horsedeals, not where I would usually look, before I was looking at Preloved and gumtree.Good luck, I hope you find someone to help you keep her.!

I'm a sharer and I would always look on the following sites (probably in this order too) - Preloved, Equine Adverts, Horsemart, Facebook local horsey groups/pages. Sometimes I have glanced at an advert in local newsagents and shops but generally online is the easiest way to find a horse to share, but I'm sure word of mouth works too.

I'd imagine for some sharers (not me of course!) the winter coming up might be part of the reason why they are not looking, unless you have an indoor school some people might not want to think about a new share until next spring. Just be patient and keep renewing your adverts - remember on preloved you slip down the listings pretty rapidly unless you update your advert frequently, plus you cant get in touch for the first 7 days unless you are a paid member so if it has been less than a week on preloved that could be a big factor.
