I'm afraid Jenny is getting over a lameness so we're not going anywhere at the moment. However she's looking pretty sound now and so once her shoe is slapped back on we'll be back in action (hopefully beginning of the week). I'm hoping we'll both be ready for Holmside Hall in 3 weeks time.

I can report that I went over a pole on the ground yesterday. This is a lot more exciting than it sounds as you have to leap at least 4 times in front of the pole, clear the pole by 3 ft, and then tank very fast across the arena and refuse to stop. All accompanied by Thomas the Tank Engine noises.

You got one too? Never get bored. Never give in.

To be fair it was the first pole she's seen in 9 months.

I'm here !!!

No shows for us this weekend though...we're 'saving' ourselves for the Blue chip qualifiers next weekend at Golden Cross (well, Trike is...Bo isn't eligible for any more unless we want to travel miles and jump stoopid heights

).

After that we're off skiing though so a pretty quiet february for us really...but then build up through March towards Towerlands Internations in April and then the outdoor season again

I have a very mature 13. She is a complete nightmare anywhere near a fence, especially at home or in the collecting ring - she can't stop leaping. But as soon as she gets in the ring a little switch flips in her head and she becomes a total pro. I was terrified the first time I went to a show on her, I survived the warm up, went in the ring and was very surprised I had to kick.

Prize givings though are a bit scary because as soon as she hears the music she is straight into canter, (as it is lap of honour time) and when I stop her she starts violently pawing the ground and rears

She sounds lovely doesn't she

She does stand in the line up - especially if they hand out Polos, doesn't mind ribbons, it is just that as soon as she hears the first beat of the music she is straight into canter. She knows that that is what you are supposed to do, and I am so wrong to make her wait. As long as they start the music after the rosettes have been handed out I'm fine. I ended up doing canter pirourettes to Star Wars once.

They never grow up do they?

(well truthfully I'm an eventer really but its winter so I convert for a while, its either that or dressage. Nuff said).
I don't put reports in here, I'm a bit shy! But took my little one out for her first BSJA couple of weeks ago and she was a superstar so I was happy.
