Where can I buy a pallet of straw/shavings mix bedding?

I am North Bucks, in the middle between Bucks/Oxon/Northants.

I have tried Googling, but cannot find a stockist of Beddown Excel, Sundown, or something similar in my area?

Does anyone know roughly how much this type of bedding is per bale?

I live in Bedfordshire and I use the Sundown bedding. I contacted their sales department and they gave me the names of a few local stockist who now deliver it for me.

I pay approx £6.20 p/bale delivered for 50 bales or more.
 
Try looking up Abbots hay and straw dealers I'm sure they do other bedding (well i know they do some shavings) and think *might* deliver to your area??
 
Sometimes it pays to think outside the box.

I went and chatted to a nearby garden centre who also breed and sell chickens. Once they realised that they could bring down their bedding costs by ordering double and sharing the delivery with me, we were well away..they use a chopped straw/shavings mix too.
 
The watcher - I'm not far off.

I've clubbed together with 3 friends, and we are going to order 100 bales and have 25 each at a time. Our local feed store is £7.90 a bale for shavings, and I think by doing it this way we will knock almost £2 a bale off, so well worth it!

Have you tried Hunters Farm shop on the A5 just outside Bletchley - I am paying £5.95 collected for Sundown red - I think they charge a little more for delivered but i think that price comes down again for larger orders.
 
Jane-Lou - Thanks, I have never been there, but that is the best price I have found so far! I'll give them a call. I can easily collect them in my horsebox from there, it's less than 20 miles.
