Where can I buy second hand showing clothing/bridle etc??

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any websites etc that sell or allow people to advertise second hand showing gear?

Literally after a complete outfit for me and OH (not decided who is actually going to do the showing or we might share it so both need outfit) and also an inhand bridle for my horse. I know exactly what bridle I want but its quite expensive so not keen to buy new as he is still growing.

Have tried Ebay but not much luck. Going to go to charity shops for OH jacket, trousers etc. I didnt know if there are any specific showing websites with advertising that I dont know about?!

Horsequest have a section for clothes and tack so they might be worth a look.

What classes are you planning to enter? I think, as a general rule, it should be light trousers with a dark horse and dark trousers with a grey.

This website sells second hand hunting clothing so you may find a nice jacket on there.

Whereabouts are you, someone might be able to recommend a tack shop that does good second hand stuff.

ooo, that's a dilemma on the light/dark trousers then! I think it would be go for dark if legs are predominently white, in that case.

If you have a look at www.rtiphotography.co.uk and go for Ponies UK Winter Champs - Saturday - Bronze ring - Apache In hand, you will be able to see what the majority are wearing.

I also think that the bridle would depend on the 'type' of your horse. So, pretty browband for show pony/hack/riding horse types and plain one for traditional/native/hunter types.

I show with BSPA and got most of my show gear through ebay - I have had some true bargains - Alexander James jacket etc. You do have to be patient and keep looking but things do come up.

Are you wanting ridden or in hand outfits? If in hand, also look in the clothing sections. Again I have got some excellent trousers, boots, trilby, shirt, waistcoat and ties in this area for in hand.

Mrs Candy, Showing Selection and others do sometimes have second hand outfits for sale. The Show Ring forum also has stuff wanted and for sell sections.

First show we want to do is in 5 weeks time so not much time really...!!!
