I've been looking for 2 months for a safe and smart 15.2-16.1 alrounder with not much luck..... I don't want a TB or WB, but that is all that seems to be for sale....

Does anybody know of any places in england/wales where i could find a mw irish horse? Any website etc etc

Hiya, i know of 2 places doing irish horses.
If you have facebook search irish pauls horses

and google wayside stables in berkshire.

PM if you want any more details or cant find them.

Would highly recoomend both.

If you don't want to travel to Ireland, then suggest you try the IDHS (GB) website, where they have both pure bred Irish Draughts and Sports Horses. There are a few breeders on there who might be able to help you.

Chuck at rideirish.co.uk in west sussex always has nice horses, or http://www.eliteirishhorses.com/ have heard great reviews about them although not been there

My yard owner has a 15.2hh irish coloured mare, really quiet easy to do sort (nannys out other horses/nervy riders) and also a 16.2hh chesnut pure irish draught, rising 4yo currently unbroken (been lungeing then it snowed!!), well mannered but great character, we are in Surrey.

Depends if you don't mind something green, if so best bet is an irish dealer, they will have best selection of quality irish horses however they WILL be green (don't mistake this for 'dodgy' nessacarily!), but if you want something solid/been seen done it you're better off looking at private ads really :)

There are lots of nice Irish horses available bred by us UK breeders. The Irish judges will confirm this :) Definitely look on the IDHS GB website, as their are a lot of breeders listed who haven't always got their horses for sale on the website, but have nice ones tucked away. Wish I could help but my oldest are rising 3yo's so not what you are looking for.
I know where there is a lovely 15.1 rising 4 but she is up in Nth Yorks so probably too far for you.

I have a lovely irish cob 15.1hh, but just rising 4, absolute sweetheart, but i'm in ireland. It can sometimes be easier to come to ireland and pay for shipping, but thats just me!! Also depends on what your budget is and what you want to do?? PM me if you want, and I can organise horses for you to see. All my friends and some aquaintences have irish horses for sale at the moment. My ex fiance bought a 3 year old, broken and riding quietly for 700 euro, super little horse to jump, very brave on fun rides, just to give you an idea of money. really depends on what you want, as to money??

i found mine cheap on a horse website - she was a bit broken (bad back from bad saddles) and cheap but with some tlc she's turned out better than expected - she was a gamble but i thought i saw a rough *diamond and for once in my life i was right lol! her passport confirmed her pervious owners in ireland who were happy to give me info on her previous hunting experience etc :)

*purley in the sense of the saying - not breeding ;)

'They' say the good Irish horses never leave Ireland :)

I bought an 11year ISH in the UK, the ad said he had hunted in Ireland and Show Jumped in the UK for 6 months before I had him, he had done neither :rolleyes:he was scared stiff out hunting, freaked out on a beach and galloped off when he saw a show jump

If/when I can sell him on I will go to ireland for the next one and watch/try it hunting first.

i'd definately say if you can afford to travel to ireland, and to pay to bring a horse back try go see a few dealers in ireland over one weekend or something, thats what i done, when i bought my first horse, must have ridden about twenty horses over the weekend, and bought murphy and he was home a week later :) i now have another irish horse taz who came from a dealer near ballnasloe, and he is the most amazing five year old horse that i have and probably ever will have.

if you can travel to yorkshire then stephen place and helen bell both come up with nice irish horses - think they can be quite £££££ though

Not sure what exactly you are looking for but the girl on page 69 of this weeks' H&H 15.2 11 year old might be worth a look?

another vote for Emma at Clipclop traders.

That's where I got my girl from. Was described 100 % accurately and the sale was so stress free and easy!

I'll have yours :D

Clip Clop Traders, Stubley Hollow and Southgate Farm will all have what you're looking for and have excellent reputations.

Don't know your address, Tabitha but will post her to Herts tomorrow.

The problem with all very good irish horses, is that they generally sell by word of mouth!

Even though my horse was advertised, he was sold to someone who heard he was for sale, and never looked at the ad :p

Every horse I have owned have been through word of mouth! :p

I would absolutely recommend Emma at clipclop traders. I bought my older boy from him and he is even better than she described. She doesn't talk c**p and tells people straight what she thinks, but she's generally right. :)

She also has Connies and connxtb's in aswell . That's what my boy is. :)
