I have been looking around quite a bit, I know shires did one years ago but can't find one anywhere now, they all seem to be in fleece?

I can't spend 100's but would like to have a proper one that can last me years, maybe a chistmas present for ned.

Someone must still make them but the only ones I have seen have been secondhand.

The blankets do come up fir sale quite often, it's worth considering buying one and having a rug made from it I suppose?

Shires do still do them, I'm looking at it now in their 2012 catalogue. £175, ouch, but well worth the money. I have a witney wool exercise rug that's still going strong after 20 yrs!

I forked out for a Shires one, and the quality is fantastic, with soft leather breaststraps. You need to be popeye to lift the thing though - very heavy. Mine only gets used underneath another to keep it clean, and only is -10 type temps as they are so heavy and warm my girl sweats with it!

Or for the cat to sleep on! ;)
