Can someone please tell me where I can find reasonably priced horse feed? It all seems to have gone up so much since I last owned a horse that now it really is taking a toll. In fact does anyone do it cheaply in the UK? Any and all advice gratefully received,

thanks

Warwickshire and Northamptonshire mostly. But I've only recently moved to the area so I'm not familiar with all of the saddlers and feed stockists.

I will change feeds if it works out to be more cost effective as long as the quality is still good but at the mo I'm feeding some Spillers and some Dengie products.

As Weezy says, providing the feed you want is the basics i.e. Pasture Mix, Chaff etc then you can go to various stores like Countrywide & buy their 'own brand' which will be cheaper than the well known makes. The quality should be roughly the same.

echo that about countrywide feeds. I use welland valley feeds own brand which is of a great qualiy. WVF are in market harborough, Leicestershire.

I always use TFM over Bridgenorth way, cheaper than most places i've found but think it might be a bit far for you to travel. It's probably a 30 mile round trip for me but i buy in bulk most of the time so i dont have to go over too often & it works out cheaper than getting it from the tack shops up the road.

I wasn't aware that Welland Valley Feeds did their own brand?!
I would be interested if they do and is cheaper!
Atm I feed Hi fi Lite which is £8.95 at WVF and Quickbeet which is the same price.

As amycov says, Tower Farm at Rugby is very reasonably priced, but don't stock some brands.

I buy direct from the mill as it is much cheaper that way & I know he supplies several outlets. It is better quality & fresher than some of the large retailers own brands which is normally D&H.
