Good afternoon all,
I am currently giving my much loved 26yr old Ford Transit horsebox some long overdue TLC.
She has had all of the welding done and got a new MOT. Me, mum, sister and my partner have all spent the last 3 weekends sanding / filling and re painting the cab.

But I have now hit a slight problem after sanding the wooden tongue and groove back to the box we have decided that we need to replace 3 full lenghts of wood, but I have no idea where I can get them from locally. I think the wood is Mahogany but I have been told any hardwood would do the job... Is this true or are some better than others?
Does anybody have any ideas where I can purchase some new wood. or reclaimed?

Lastly what is the best way to treat the wood I was thinking a good quality wood preserver but is there anything that will take the battering from overhanging trees and branches?

Thanks to all who have read this far :O)

You should be able to buy hardwood from any good wood yard. Failing that, ask at a joinery who make windows and doors.

When the wood has been fitted, use several coats of marine varnish to waterproof it and you should have a repair that will last a very long time.
