Where on Earth can you by the proper wooden/chain style twitch? Can't find one online, or in tack stores. Are they now illegal? The humane ones just do not work, they fall off.

Don't start on the don't twitch thing, till my vets stop using it, I won't. Or your more than welcome to pay for my dermosedan!

Thanks in advance. X

Cut off a suitable length of old broom handle, drill a hole through it near the end and either put a nice sized rope through it or you could be a bit meaner and plait some bailer twine to put through it.

Drill a hole through a pick axe handle (or similar) and thread a piece of very thick soft string (or thin rope) through it and knot tightly using a decent strong knot, and leaving a loop long enough to put over the nose and twist. Do bear in mind this can only be used for very short periods of time and when desperate IMO.

Umm chain?

It does sound like good old wooden, rope or chain twitches are discontinued.

Don't worry, I use responsibly, not frequently or for prolonged periods. Once a year, to clip. She literally will do anything (dentist, vet, farrier, pulling) accept clippers.

I think I'll make my own then with some plaited rope and an old broom. Thanks guys. Homebase tomorrow!
