As expected, after a month of being confined to the stable and going into the school only [as we were unable to leave the yard or turn horses out], Bailey appears a bit "school stale."

He has been back in "proper work" from Monday just gone, and whilst he seems to be good to hack, he is being a tad cheeky to school, so YO tells me.

I have decided to go back to doing some groundwork with him in the school, just to mix it up a bit and give him something else to focus on - he has always really enjoyed it too.

Now, given the Diamond Jubilee is around the corner, I've decided we'll play around with inflatables, flags, have balloons and bunting tied up and around [although this doesn't usually faze him anyway]. It then occurred to me [poor pony] that I could get him well and truly "up" for the occasion, and dress him up all patriotic like; so I'm thinking union jack flag on him, plaiting bunting into his mane and painting his tootsies blue and red.

I am struggling to find somewhere that sells blue and rd hoof paint/polish - anyone in the know as to where I can get some?

And JTFD and Dafthoss - OH has duly been sent to Poundland for props and so far his shopping list is as follows:-

Bunting [a lot of it]
Balloons [a lot of them]
Big flag [a few]
Little flags [a lot]

Anything else I've forgotten?

Of course, anyone who helps will be welcome to see the pictures that will be taken over the coming weeks of Bailey's Jubilee Celebration! :D

Thanks!

Well you need to get a dave the dolphin! No yard is complete without a dave the dolphin :D
I also found these the other day on my first exam done shopping trip

although I have just brought a plain blue one to go with my bandages.

How about the glittery hoof stuff you can get? that comes in loads of colours.

:D:D enjoy!

That is very true; I will locate a Dave the Dolphin, and a few others :D

Where did you find the bandages?! Will get those I think and was contemplating the saddle cloth.

Poor Bailey...and poor bank account!

You can get union jack quarter markers too...

I would want to use temporary spray on hair colour using the markers as a template to make them stand out more than plain quarter markings ;)

There's that HH legacy hat special too with the union flag that I want ;)

we got the bandages from ingatestone - they're cheaper than some of the plain ones so not going to break the bank! :)

Can't see the bandages online at ingatestone saddlery; what make are they and whats the description so I can google them?

Bandages and browband from ingatestone and neither broke my student budget so they were deffinatly not expensive :D. Oh and kiddys washable poster paint is suitable for use on a pony....... mine had a pumpkin on his bum one halloween :D.

ETA bandages are mark todd and browband is loveson I think.
