I sent my youngster away to be schooled with the idea of selling him at the end of March. A few weeks after I sent him there I was told he had started windsucking- something he had never done before. I asked what they were feeding/how much he went out etc. as I was concerned he was bored. I was told he was hayed 3x a day, went out every other day, all sounds ok.
Because of my job I wasn't able to see him as he was about 2 hours away from where I was living, but my dad did go and check on him every now and again.
For the past 2 months they have supposedly been trying to sell him. As part of the sales package they are supposed to take care of all advertising and the price included this. However, they asked me to put him on horse quest and horse mart, which I did as I really needed to sell him. In the end, I found a home for him at a very low price due to the windsucking.
Dad picked him up for me today to take him to his new home and he was a complete state. Very skinny, depressed, looks like crap basically. Dull coat, no spark in his eye, head shy etc. When I had him he was the friendliest, kindest horse- neighed at you etc. Just a really nice horse!
Anyway, do I have a leg to stand on for the service that I/my horse has been given? He obviously wasn't looked after well, didn't get much turnout. I always had to chase them up to find out how he was going etc.
I have pictures of him before and how he looks now. He isn't a rescue case, but for a livery service I was paying a rather large amount of money for, he does not look how he should...
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thank you
