Where do I start...?

Hi all,
I've been persuaded by my OH that I should join her when she goes out riding, I wanted to surprise her and arrange to be at the stables waiting for her all kitted out and ready to go in a few weeks.
Being all new to this where should I go to get fixed up? I've seen a few online suppliers are they pretty much the same or is there a best one? Thanks

Where are you located? A shop may be better as you can get some advice on what you need and sizes etc

Wish i could get my OH NEAR a horse, never mind actually on one...!

How "kitted out" do you want to be? How much money do you want to spend? You could go the whole hog and buy breeches, long boots, and hat and spend upwards of £200 ! If nothing else, I would get yourself your own hat and a decent pair of short boots, preferably with half-chaps.

You could buy a hat online, but its best to go to a decent tack shop near home and try several on to see what fits you best.

Would suggest Tower Farm if it is near enough for you - they have all different price ranged stuff - so you can go for ultra expensive or cheap as chips!

The most important things will be having your hat fitted properly, I would recommend if you are new to riding to buy some cheap jodpurs as jeans can be very uncomfortable.

Good for you have a great time, my OH walks the dogs with me sometimes, but he def would not get on the horse!!

Hat, jods/breeches, yard boots and half chaps. Nice simple and relatively cheap. i would go to your local saddlers as it won't be much of a surprise for your OH if everything ( bar the hat) arrives in the post
