i am just wondering?
i usually get mine from the local farmer its £3 a bale of hay and £1.50 for straw and £15 for a big square bale of haylage.
shavings are around £4-6 in the local suppliers!
do you buy local or via a merchant?
the prices of hay are really expensive-ive just moved from s.yorks where i was paying 2.25 per bale from the yard.the new place in cheshire buys from a local merchant and its £4 a bale!!!!!

i pay £2.25 a bale off the field upto £3 in the winter. I have flax bedding and pay 4.70 + vat a bale i buy 10 at once. Buying in bulk can be cheeper as my local distributers give a discount.

Shavings comes from the agricultural dealer - £5.00

Haylage is grown on the farm. Although we have lost this year's crop, so not sure where it will be comming from.

I buy my hay from a farmer, a large round bale is €25. I buy shavings from local agri. supplier, €9 for a bag of dust extracted ones. Haylage is €12 for a bag at local agri. supplier.

Shaving - YO gets them in £5.50 and good quality
Haylage - Small bales between £5.50 and £6.50, next size up (roughtly two small bales) £8.00 either delivered from one supplier or fetch them from local yard. Large round bales of haylage YO makes them was £20 last year, but told going to be £25 this year....
Hay - Again YO makes it - £2.50 at moment, but it will go up.
Straw - YO gets it in £1.50 small bale (not much left) and £12.00 large bale, but I'm on shaving.....

Think everything is going to go up this year..........

We have a great supplier in the South West called Mole Valley Farmers. They do pretty much everything except hay. I get that from my friends who cut their own.

from YO who grows it himself!! hay £3 bale nice stuff to!! straw he buys in and thats £2.50 a bale, he did do haylidge last year at £25 big bale but easier for me to have hay as only got the one donkey at the mo and it was going off before we used it!!
