Where do you buy your paddock fertiliser?

I'm planning to fertilise my fields in early spring and got the kit to do it this year - just wondering where is the best/most reasonable place to buy fertiliser. I have 10 acres to do and expecting to use 100kg per acre so need a ton and wondering where is best to get it!

Any recommendations?

I'm based in East Anglia if that helps.

Suggest you contact a local farmer (if you know any) they may be willing to add your requrements to their fertiliser order, it would be so much cheaper for you to be part of a bulk load. Have you tought about how you are going to apply the fert, perhaps just hand the job over to said farmer, it may be easier in the long run.

Sorry didnt read your post properly.... if you've got the kit go for local famer or contact feed/agrisupplier for prices, can you pick up from somewhere save delivery costs!

I fertililse my paddocks once every three years with calcified seaweed (Advantages: cheap, no need to take the horses off the pasture, slow-acting, smells wonderful (like the seaside so neighbours love it). I get mine either direct from the suppliers in Bristol as I'm so near, or through my local very large feed merchant. My neighbouring friendly farmer who looks after my land for me applies it. Definately ask a farmer, but you may be too late for this year - we ordered ours back in the autumn for delivery shortly via a farmer.

We spread our horses manure in the autumn (started that last year) as we invested in a muck spreader and chemical fertiliser in spring. Our grass is quite poor and needs improving as it was just fallow land and self seeded.

local agricultural suppliers should sort you out although I agree if you buy in bulk with a farmer it would be much cheaper

Have you had a soil test carried out to check if their are any defficiencies in your soil. It may need top dressing.
I never fertilise our grazing fields as it encourages the twitch to grow and take over from the other grasses. Fertiliser can also cause Laminitis.
Regarding hay fields adding fertiliser will again cause Twitch to take over and the field will need to be re-seaded at least every 5 years as Twitch is not anutritious grass.
If the grass in the field is not dense enough then do a soil test, dress and overseed.
