A reliably trained first eventer for a 2 year loan. Preferably about 15.2 to 16hh at biggest. Up to giving an amazing young rider a chance at BE The young lady in question has endless patience and talent but no large cash input to buy and will be heading to uni in 2 years time. Scratching my head a bit as would love to help but my days of owning big horses to event are long gone. Wonderful supportive family currently has a less than able horse who is causing her heartache on loan but she feels frustrated by his napping and is running out of time to get the final experience of fulfilling her dream with him. I trust mum/daughter implicitly with my ponies and don't say that lightly. So any ideas

You find them through word of mouth, usually via your trainer, and you need to be prepared to take on something older/creaky and maintain it.

In this market, you dont. They are selling for ridiculous prices within an hour. Anything that came up for loan would have people fighting over it.

Probably depends a lot on what level you are looking for. Many, many riders will go through this, though doesn't make it any easier unfortunately.

Via the pony club? Big old horse I ride did BE and after his own family left home he was lent out to younger members of the pony club. This may have been a one off as I suppose most families would simply sell on but might be worth an ask.
