i have an Ifor Williams 505, and obviously it has no where to store tack in it and I've heard only bad reviews about the tack packs so don't want to waste the money on one. Often the back seats of my car are full when towing and I'm always worried about my saddle rolling around in the boot. Is there anyway to fit a saddle rack in the boot of my car or somewhere similar?or are there any better alternatives to a tack pack? thank you. :)

Why the bad reviews on the tack packs??? I kept mine when I swapped to an equi trek, mega useful for away shows.
I used mine with the 505 too, but also used the boot for the rest of the stuff.

i just can't seem to find enough good reviews to justify the price! the main problem seems to be that they aren't very roomy to fit the saddles in?

I put my tack in the boot on a Stubbs saddle mate. I find it doesn't move around and works really well. I keep my saddle on it in the tack room, put everything else I need in the bottom pick it up and go.

You can pick up a tack pack second hand for about 100. They aren't really big enough for two 17.5" saddles tho.

I've seen a rather handy folding rack for the back of the car.

I use a plastic saddle rack I forget the name of. It's ok on the back seat so it can't move around but in the boot it tends to fall off or move around.

I have got one of these in my IW trailer https://www.orchardequestrian.com/Stubbs-Folding-Saddle-Rack.html Its bolted through the front below the window. However, the saddle gets covered in hay if you have haynets in the trailer too. I only use it when I have all the kids in the car as well as ponies. Otherwise I put the saddle on the back seat of the car and the rest of the stuff in the boot.

i'd be worried about leaving my saddle near the haynets as devil pony would probably see it as food!:D

Just to say about the Stubbs saddle mate, my friend found her Stubbs saddle mate was tall enough for her dressage saddle also, the only thing that didn't fit were the billet straps so she got her hubby to carefully cut a couple of small slits in each side at the bottom to feed her billets into to keep them off the floor. So you could easily get two of these and cheaper than the tackpack.

I have the ifor 511 and the tack storage attached to the door. Not big enough for saddles really but I put my numnah and girth in there so at least there are no hairs in the car.

No real input but I hire my instructors trailer and she has the ifor tack box thingy and it's such a massive nuisance!! It's huge! Never actually used it so can't comment on what fits inside it, but unloading a horse, especially mine that will rush if she thinks it's a tight squeeze, is soooo awkward and I wouldn't want to keep lugging it in and out of the trailer. I'm lucky (or unlucky) that my dad tows and my mum is disabled so has a wheelchair hoist in the back of the disco, and if it's lowered its a perfect saddle rack xD

Edited to add: she keeps it at the very front and then haynets end up sitting on them. Not sure if you could put them anywhere else?
