getting into the swing of organising our sponsered ride again, and I am looking for places to advertise. So, which magazines, websites etc do you go to to find out about events you want to go to? I am in the South East, so fairly localised.

Yep, just put it on the riding diary and its in pegasus too. In previous years I have done nag mag, and another couple of the lesser known magazines but obviously that costs money!! I am putting schedules in local tack shops but not too sure how far out in the county I should go.

BHS magazine has an events page, everyone who had Gold, Silver or Bronze membership gets a magazine either every month or every other. Ask if you can advertise in there. Wealden Advertiser has a whole equestrian section and is free to pick up so lots of people do. And Riding Diary which you said it was on and pegasus is always good. What about making a Facebook page?? Good Luck, I will certinaly be attending :) :)

Riding Diary is great, only came across it recently! A stack of flyers in your local saddlers is always good, I check out all the schedules whenever I go into my saddlery. Whereabouts is your sponsored ride? I've picked up flyers for events up to an hours drive away, I'm sure other people would too!

Even if you don't want to pay for advertising, it's worth firing off a brief press release to all the magazines, they use this sort of thing to fill a small space they might have left, and the fact it's for charity not for profit should help. .
