That's our question just lately :D

I remember not so long ago when you would see loads of them in fields around 'our way' however it seems like we are looking for a needle in hay stack? A friend of mine is looking for one. She's scanned pages of the Horse and Hound, surfed the net until she's dizzy and there's nothing out there, or so it seems?

Any age from about two upwards (prefers a gelding) and it has to be a traditional coloured cob/gypsy type one. Lots of fur and feather (:)) and plenty of bone.

Perhaps someone out there can help, maybe you know someone who breeds them, knows of someone who has one for sale??

It has to be at least 14.3 hh at maturity? Anyone know anyone around the Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire area ??
PM me if you prefer :D

i have been thinking the same thing! im on the horse sale adverts everyday and there seem to be done in the north east at all, also if anyone knows of any 15hh+ in north east area PM me!

My nan & grandad have a super gypsy cob who they drive :)

Not that near (Sussex) but we have loads around our way - if you are still looking and could come this far PM me and i can put you in touch with a couple of breeders! x

She's looked on Horse Mart?

Forgot to say it's definitely not to have been driven. Her boy was driven when he was younger and now has serious Ring Bone :(

Thanks for the replies, will get her to look

Shed loads here: http://www.vinesgypsyhorses.com/ - and sign up & you'll get emails with stock listed before they go on line :)

Otherwise, there are literally 'shed' loads of them locally round here. RSPCA currently keeping an eye on just over 70 which are being kept over a total of 50 acres (mostly mud) only 5 miles from me :(
Another 2 or 3 herds also closeby......

I can recommend Farrington coloured Horses (near Coventry)..Ive just bought one from there..

They mainly have traditonal coloured cobs..

They are lovely people..and very honest..very friendly and welcoming..even if you had to travel along way it would be worth it.

I've got one for sale! 15.2hh, 7yrs piebald. Super paces, etc. Lives in/out. Hacks first or last. PM if you'd like some photos or more details.

Ahh the photos are just what she wants !!!! :D and I know she is reading these posts, lurking out there!!

She's seen one advertised at Farringtons however they can't be sure it's not been driven. I like the look of a mare they have who's only 3 but not sure if 'friend' will have a mare? Also may make a good height?

Thank you everyone for the info :)

I got one! He's a real boooty!, BUT sorry he ain't for sale. He's a very special man and he's with me for life now.

Sorry no ideas - I got mine as a winter loan from a trekking centre and just couldn't bear to send him back! Most trekking places/riding schools tend to have something for the, er um, more heavyweight riders, so worth a look?
