Had long chat with OH last night and we decided that we are going to move to Kent (from London)...

I am finding not having horse near me very stressful and so need to find somewhere with an easy commute to London

So - any of you able to suggest good horsey areas in Kent which aren't too far from London?

I don't know much of Kent very well

Oh may I ask where you live in London and where you keep your horse. I have the same stress of being miles away from my gee gee and it is not fun. I am dreading the winter!

I know that there is a very nice lady on this forum that has a livery yard in Kent which is about 30 mins drive from London (Stacey Tanglewood I think off the top of my head but I am sure she will contact you if she sees this post). Are you still going to work in London so need to commute? Bromley also has riding and livery as does Bexley but not sure what they are like to live there.

hi ya - thanks luckylocalian !!

I live in Chelsfield (junction 4 M25) - train comute is great from there and i actually drive to Canary Wharf every day taking about 45 mins !!

Train is about 20/30 mins !!

yard is also in chelsfield - www.tanglewoodstudfarm.com - I have a few people who live in london who keep there horses with me x

I live in SE London at the moment - and work there too - horse is actually in Suffolk

but there is logic to that... strangely...

I grew up in Bromley - so not really up for that - was thinking somewhere a bit greener... Chelsfield I do know a little bit... maybe that would be good - and Stacey's place looks fantastic

I guess I was sort of thinking a nice countrysidey part... This is the problem really - I don't know it well enough to pick specific bits out...

OMG I want my horse at your yard! It looks fantastic! Shame it's a bit far from me and probably can't afford livery

I'm nearish sevenoaks ish and tonbridge is about half an hour away. I'm on the kent/ surrey border and loads of livery yards, big hunting country and good toll riding.

Look perhaps at Lingfield, Edenbridge, hurst green. All on Uckfield line out of London bridge and a good commuter route. We moved out of london a year ago and I've gone from my horses being an hours drive away to being able to rent 10 acres 2 minutes from my house.

Lovely

Most of kent is countrysidey and easily accesable to london.
Find a place you like and pm the kent peeps. we will tell you

We did the same thing and moved near Sevenoaks - mine are at a fantastic yard. Although now we have bought our house we are in Edenbridge, so if anyone happens to know any yards near there pls pm as now they are too far away again!!
