We are really limited for choice in our local shops (although I buy what I can from them, my horse is just an awkward size, and has weird needs!) but I have always been a bit wary of buying online. Where are the best (and least expensive!!) places to do this?

Yes, Ebay. E.C I find a bu**er for getting hold of certain sizes. By the time you find what you need, you discover that the damn thing doesn't come in the size you need!
Ebay at least you can shop by size!

Agree with the above poster, do not touch horse rugs for you... They owed me 108 pounds for 8 months and I had to go through my bank to get the money back.

They can't get credit items due to bad payment (their words not mine) so you order and nothing is delivered.. Avoid like the plague, it is disgusting they are still trading. It is also a shame as it has put me off ordering online especially with small shops.. I do use equestrian clearance and also eBay if u know what ur looking for

I've used lots of sites and always had good service, equestrian clearance, bluepony, celtic equestrian, ebay! hope valley, cybercheckout!!! ok maybe i'll admit it, am an internet shopaholic!!!

Another vote for Equestrian Clearance I used to also recommend Hope Valley Saddlery, but have just received some appalling customer service from them. Have had to get Trading Standards involved, so will no longer be shopping there!
Have had some bargains from Ebay, but will now be looking closely at the names of shops I am buying from and avoiding HVS.

Equestrian clearance and premier equine, never had bad service from either xx

this ^^ !! I also like Robinsons and have used Hope Valley before (although someone above warns against them), Tackanory and other online places with success. Always price compare with ebay, too.

Speedgate and Frogpool are very good, in my experience, but can be a bit expensive compared.

You may gather that I too am a bit of internet shopaholic!

www.rideaway.co.uk - have always recieved excellent service and prompt deliveries from them.

For more 'up market' stuff have also used Derby House and found them good, but know a lot of people on here have had problems.

I'm another for rideaway. Great service instore and my last online order was with me within 48 hour of ordering. They've also been fine with me sending an item back after the usual returns period and always answer phone or emails

I find there are so many that it's difficult to chose just one! I usually google what I want and compare the prices on the results that come up and go for the cheapest. I can honestly say I haven't had a problem with any website so far, even horserugs4u but I'm aware I was one of the lucky ones!

Have used
Robinsons - Used once I think, but okay.
Derby House - Tons of times, would recommend.
Rideaway - Used twice I think, but good.
Equestrian Clearance - Used tons, would recommend.

Equestrian Clearance, brilliant, fast postage and very helpful staff.
Ride Away, only used once and would recommend them.
Throstles Nest, not used their internet site but their shop is brilliant and heard they are good with internet orders also.
Hope Valley Saddlery, Only used a handful of times but they have been good.
Premier Equine, love them, super fast delivery, decent items and good prices.
Derby House, had several major problems with them, but on the times when they are good they are good. But be wary.
Robinsons, never had an issue with online orders (other than during their sales and different sizes or colours being higher prices - without price saying FROM £x) they are fairly good with delivery but their service and quality of items has seriously dropped (imo) in the last few years.
Ebay!!!

........ those are the ones just off the top of my head! No wonder I have no money! :o
