I'm currently looking for a horse who needs excersising etc and have tried lots of websites and forums but so far have found nothing.

I was actually riding a lovely 16.3hh lad for 9 weeks prior to the wedding, but since I've arrived back, I've not heard from the owner so I have gotten the impression that I'm not needed any more. Don't get me wrong, the owner was lovely and we got on well, I've just had no replies to texts etc.

So if anyone does know of any good websites, I would really appreciate it. :)

I have three ads up on different sites and am not local to a tack shop unfortunately. I have been checking back on some sites every so often as well. :)

In my garden :D In france .. :(

I can't find anyone or atleast no one serious had one girl, she came and rode him 3 times in the week and also the following week (rode total of about 6 hours) and left me a tenner and f** ed off. The cheek of some people..

I've always given notice if I were to leave and have always sorted out financial contributions prior to even meeting the horse.

Perhaps I shall have to ferry over to France. :D

He's always available :D

I would too! Just common etiquette, I was charging just the money for the shoes so it turned out to be about 40e a month (Which isn't a lot considering the average price is about 80e over here) so turned out to be 10e a week, She came the first week and left me 10e (Which I though was a bit odd usually you pay upfront and in total), and the second week she came rode all week as the week before and then left without a word, owing me money. I bet it was her plan all along, as from now I will be asking the full 40e upfront every month and will have a contract saying lease is minimim 4 months.
There are too many joy riders out there!
I emailed her to ask her what was happening, and she said that she still loaned the horse but didn't have the money (No point in loaning to start with then!!) and also she couldn't come out in the week so she just didn't pay me, I mean come on If you can't see your horse for a week you don't just not pay that weeks livery! I said that wasn't my problem if she couldn't see the horse (sorry as I was.. or not!) and asked her for the money she owed me, I never saw or heard from her again. Anyhow, 6 hours riding for 10 quid.. not bad eh! She would have paid about 90e for that in a riding school!

I rode for a sales livery and paid £10 per day to ride for 45 minutes - I could ride for as long as I wanted doing flat or jumping so it was a good arrangement. Left because my confidence took a battering after being thrown from a horse who bolted going hell for leather.

I'm looking for something quiet and sane but with the ability to go up a gear - however, I just seem to get replies from people who want their horse re-backed because it's "gotten a bit of a bad attitude/few bad habits". *Rolls eyes*

People WANTING their horse ridden/loaned/shared can be just as much of a timewaster as those looking to loan/share/buy.

Darn, I wish you were closer. I have a sane and sensible 17.2hh who hacks beautifully, works well on the flat and jumps 1.30s, he just needs exercising more as my maternity leave is nearly up and I'll be back at work in October. Can you move??

Drat. Possibly, where are you? :p
