I think I am trying to find the impossible. I want one of these:

Simple enough you might think. But not if you need it in a 6 and a half inch!

If anyone knows where I can get such a thing, or something similar for the big lad. (And yes he is a very big Shire boy! :D ) I would be eternally grateful! :)

Yes, I have. Have tried all the usual online suspects but can't get anything bigger than a 6 inch.

Thanks :)

We managed to get a Neue Schule trans in 6 1/2 they also do the universal, but otherwise you are pretty much stuffed  We have had a few Big Girls over the years and this has always been a problem. Abbey do 6 1/2 (or they did) managed to get a french link a fair while ago. Sister now uses Pee Wee bit on one of the big girls, as they do fit, but they are not Dressage legal. Good luck with the search. :)

If you are needing the same mouth piece (looks like Happy Mouth to me) then they don't make one in a 6 1/2 I'm afraid

Hi, I would settle for something similar, full cheeks and a nylon mouthpiece, but at the moment I can't find anything like it in a 6 1/2 :(

it might cost a bit :p:) but would it be worth contacting a maker and asking them direct they might make u one or have a small stock

Hi , I noticed that someone sent a link for a bit on ebay thats listed as a Fulmer ... its not a Fulmer its a full cheek .... ( and its a saddlery thats listing it , they should know better !!!) , Im glad to see you are going for a mullen mouth and not a single joint ( single joint pushes onto the horses tongue and they cannot swallow , so really difficult for them to work when they cannot swallow easily ! ) . Jeffries do the Happy Mouth range but they go up to 5 3/4inch . If you are using a mullen mouth and your horse is happy in it , stick to mullen mouth or bit with low port mouthpiece and then choose a cheekpiece that suits what you are wanting to do ( the cheekpiece will effect the outside of the head , poll , curb etc ) . You could go for a D-ring , full cheek ( not Fulmer) , Kimblewick , Pelham , hanging cheek with a mullen/ported mouthpiece . Get in touch with bit banks , Myler , Neus shule ( however its spelt !!) etc etc and see what they have and at least you can try before you buy , esp when you are going to be limited as to whats available due to the size .

A saddler can make a leather bit in any size.
Just get the cheeks you want and have a rolled mouthpiece made. It can be stiffened as required and whatever thickness you need.
