Hi all,

I have recently set up a grass track system 'paddock paradise' at my livery yard, but I am wondering where to advertise it?

Are any of you members of any 'natural horse' forums or have any idea where I could advertise to such a niche market??

Hope this doesn't get pulled as I'm not advertising my yard - just asking where I could advertise it!!

Thanks x

I'm not sure it is a 'niche' market is it.

It just strikes me as a sensible way to arrange your turnout space and all liveries will be pleased with an efficient system.

how about advertising from a lamanitic and good doer point of view, rather than the paddock paradise system. you would prob get more people coming to see you and you want appear to "natural horse"

ps where are you pm if you wish

Oh really do you think?? I think it's fab, but anyone sort of 'mainstream' always looks at me as if i've clearly lost the plot!! I am advertising it in all the normal places, but just didn;t know if there was a natural horse hang out on the web! I haven't found one, but thought i'd ask!

Well if you were any where near me, I'd be battering your door down. With three to keep slim and fit, and hindered by too much grass, it's a nightmare.

BTW, ever thought of encorporating a horsewalker into the track ? No ? Ah well, can only dream....

We have this system in place and it works out really well. I wouldn't see it as a niche just a sensible approach. PP for good doers, leaving the paddocks in between for non-porkers and hay/haylage.

Haha LOVE the idea of incorporating a horse walker!! Yeah i've advertised it as 'with optional track system, great for laminitics' etc. etc. haven't mentioned paddock paradise as that's a bit American and out there!! Just don't know how to reach these people!

Thanks for your encouragement guys - can be a bit daunting when you're going against the grain!

Another one who would like you to be close to me!! Barefooters tend to be fairly up on restricting grazing/lots of movement during turnout etc so perhaps contacting your local trimmer would be an idea - they might know of some clients who would be looking for something like that? Not saying that those with shod horses wouldn't also be interested, just that since we have had shoes off ours we have become lots more aware of the probs our two were having with the usual square green paddocks on livery yards!
Good luck!

There was someone on here that set up a site for livery yards to advertise, I can't remember the name because we are not looking but someone may remember it!

www.*******.co.uk there you go, just found it on another thread!

I would bite your hand off for something like that - whereabouts are you? I am moving areas for work with an arthritic laminitic who needs to be out moving about but not pigging out, and the number of yards who have just told me that they just split their grazing mares/geldings and won't do anything different for my laminitic "in case everyone wants special turnout" blows my mind.

Apparently my horse is "special needs" but to me she is fairly normal horse needs really - needs turnout time without getting fat! I wish paddock paradise was the rule not the exception, or at least more commonly available as an option.

Maybe you could target owners of laminitics through vet practices as well as advertising in the usual places such as at saddlers, in the local horsey magazines and so on. If the track system is an option and you also have the green square option for poor doers then say that in your ad to reassure people who would be maybe put off by the 'newness' of the track thing. I think the track system is a brilliant selling point for your yard and if you were near me I would definitely be interested. Where are you?

You can advertise on HorseGossip. It's not necessarily a 'niche' forum but it's very well subscribed, popular, has a section for advertising livery services and is free!

Thanks for all your suggestions and encouragement everyone :)

I have contacted 7 local vets and no one has got back to me! Which put a slight downer on things, but I did email, and I guess they don't have time :s

Thanks all xx

Oh i'm in Canterbury, Kent btw!

:) Thanks for the mention! I am happy to add any additional categories for any facilities people have if it is not already on the site so just contact me through the website.

Another one that would kill for PP on a livery yard! How did you manage to set it up? I'm thinking of trying to convince our YM, since we now have a lot of diet-aware barefooters on the yard, but I wonder how feasible it is, given the wet climate! Was it expensive to set up?
