Just as I thought I was going to be horseless for a while, the OHs horse comes back from loan unexpectedly... Oh well, I am missing riding!

Anyway, where should I advertise? I've tried Facebook, but get inundated by time wasters and people who just aren't suitable (I even state an experienced home only!).

The horse in question is known on the forum (through the loaner) and will be up for loan very shortly, but I have no idea where o advertise him so the 'right' people see it?

Local riding club,Pony Club? Do you know any instructors who can put the word out? We just found a fabulous loan pony through word of mouth,he wasn't advertised as his owner, quite rightly, wanted to be careful who and where he went to. She mentioned him to our instructor, who mentioned it to us and a week later, he came to live with us.

Local tack and farm shops, horsemart, HHO, equine adverts.... Facebook is a bit of time waster, but you do get genuine people too. It is just time consuming wading through the day dreamers and having to politely decline their enquiries.

Word of mouth will be your best friend too. Put the word out to local horsey friends, or even local yards. As above, instructors etc may know of people looking.
