I was just looking to pick people's brains regarding where best to advertise.

He is a 4 year old gelding by Pro-Set but has a very old head on him and is working beautifully on the flat and also over fences. I am only looking for someone to part / full loan him because I am pregnant and have four in at the moment so could do with a bit of assistance :) :p

I so far have him advertised on BD, BE and Farmers Guardian.

I am in Chorley in Lancs, so any suggestion as to local publications I could advertise?

I am umming and ahhing about putting him on H&H classifieds but not sure whether anyone really looks on the website when searching for a loan horse?

My main issue is that he has to stay on my current yard (JWD - formerly Arkenfield in Chorley) as he is the turnout companion for my 5 year old.

My boy was advertised on equine adverts. That has so many hits :) I had about 5 emails a day for full loan and most of them sounded like very good people that i would have been happy to have him. He was advertised as an eventer! And best of all its free :)

If you want him to stay with you have you tried a more "local" approach?

i.e. tackshops, local competition centres will usually have a notice board and your local riding club should have a newsletter or website you could use. I always look, out of curiosity mostly, at these notice boards, but someone else doing just that might know of someone who is looking. Its a good way to get "word of mouth" going.
