I am looking for a sharer/loaner for my gelding while I am pregnant and will soon have a small baby! Not wanting a full loan and so I need horsey to stay at current private DIY yard which is lovely but has no school. Ideally I would like a fairly experienced adult who wants to hack plus there is an opportunity for them to go to all our local riding club events and some competitions with my friend and her horse in her trailer. My horse is 100% in traffic and loves to hack, we have fantastic hacking so a happy hacker would be fine, likewise he jumps and is well schooled.

I was thinking about asking £15 for 4-5 days a week which can be flexible. Once baby is born I would like to ride him once a week or so with help from my husband. Does this sound reasonable? I am willing to pay insurance, shoeing plus rest of bills to ensure horse is well cared for.

Where is the best place to advertise without ending up with timewasters? I have only found equineadverts and I am not sure if that is a place 'experienced' adults look...

I am also trying to find a loaner at the mo, try Preloved, i have had loads of feedback from there, but unfortunately they all want to move my boy, even though my ad states he is to stay put.

I'm in the same boat! My boy is a youngster though, which makes things a bit more tricky for me.

You could try horse hunter and equine ads.
