I'm having to sell my horse and need to advertise her. Where do you find has the best results for this?

I know that Horse and Hound is very good but is there anywhere cheaper that has good results too? I will be advertising her locally aswell, but dont want to spend lots of money on advertising her in the wrong places.

I am looking almost every day the moment, as am looking for horse for a friend.

I go on Horsemart and Horsequest mostly - I don't bother with Horse Exchange or Equine advertiser as there don't seem to be many ads on there. I also have a look on Coloured Contacts, The Pony Club and Carriagelink every now and then.

Hi, thanks for that Chunkie. I was thinking maybe Horsemart, not too sure how much it cost thought, i will have to do some investigation tonight about it. Horsequest i think is expensive but i will have a look at that too. Horse exchange i have advertised on before and we had such lot of spam from it so i dont think i will do that one although it was very cheap.

Is coloured contacts only for coloured horses? or anything goes?

Popped ours on Preloved on Tuesday night, sold him yesterday morning (subject to next week's vetting) so will definitely use that site again - and it's free!

Ah thats amazing thetruthwillout! Id have never of thought of doing that, although i have seen horses on there before lol. Fingers crossed for you for the vetting then, hope everything gos well.

Horsehunter is very cheap, about a quid for an ad, then there's adhorse which is a fiver for three months, I know a few people who've had a good response from there;)

from recent experience...horsemart is cheap but your advert might get drowned on there...horsehunter is v cheap and i've had a great response- both sale and loan ads. personally when looking i like horse quest :D

Thumbs up for Preloved, had been trying to sell my pony for two months, popped her on preloved sold with in three days!!

I think there was a post about Horsemart, and how quickly the ads get put on, and thus your ad gets lost. The concensus was that you may have to pay for a sticky ad to get seen. Does that make sense ?? sm x
